My background is in Business Development Management and Employment Services.

I enjoy this work very much and that is what led me to start iCare Support Services from my own home office.

I have been so excited to see the amazing growth of my business in such a short time, it really proves to me that what I have created is needed and wanted.

I am really passionate about helping people who may be experiencing disadvantage or barriers in their lives so I wanted to create a business based on this passion.

When I am not working, I am a mother to 5 beautiful children and I love having the freedom to spend so much time with them. I also love travelling, being a BMX mum and heading to the beach when I can.

Brian Christensen

Compliance Manager

I have varied experiences in Retail, Call Centre and Disability Services including disability support work and disability employment services for the past 12 years.

Being a Support Worker was especially rewarding by being a part of someone’s journey to reaching their own goals in life and employment. Now in the background of iCare it’s fantastic to watch our Support Workers assisting our participants to achieve their goals.

Outside of work I enjoy spending my time with my two fur-baby cats, who are like children to me. I like to get out and do all the tourist attractions and road trips to smaller regional towns. 

I joined the iCare team in their expansion to Victoria and I’m beyond proud to be a part of the iCare family, and very excited to see what lies ahead.

Renee Dargusch

I have over 15 years experience in customer service and administration, primarily in the local government sector. I have gained a variety of skills and expertise throughout my career, ranging from reception and customer-facing roles to corporate administration and project and team management.

Outside of the office, I’m a proud Aunty of 3 amazing nephews. My little buddies are a huge part of my life and most weekends are spent with them making special memories. I am quite creative and enjoy a bit of DIY. Recently, I have discovered a hidden passion for gardening; transforming my yard with home-painted pots and constructing garden beds.

I feel privileged to join iCare Support Services and look forward to working with the team to continue their valuable work. I am very excited to work for an organisation that contributes positively in supporting the community.

Leanne Pearson-Christensen

Up until two years ago I had been working as a Tax Accountant for 13 years. Due to changes within my family I was able to re-evaluate my life journey and made an easy decision to change my career direction and follow my dream to help people in a practical way as others had been helping members of my family.

An opportunity came my way to study and gain a qualification in individual support, then I met Amy and was fortunate enough to be offered a job as a support worker. It has been the most rewarding job being able to empower our participants to live their best life and be apart of their life journey.

After a few months I was promoted to the office utilising my skills and background in accounting, as well as still being able to continue supporting our participants when needed.

I am blessed to be part of the forward thinking iCare team and I’m excited to be on the iCare journey.

Karen Boardman

Registered Nurse

I am a registered nurse and dedicate my life to helping people regardless of the needs they require.

I did not become a Registered Nurse until later in life as I, like many in my generation, left school to get a job and raise a family. When I realised it was something I really wanted to do I was not in a position to be able to pursue this career so it just became a dream.

I continued to raise my family and work part time in retail. While I loved the people I worked with and the interaction with the public I still yearned to become a nurse. It was while I was at work one day I stumbled across a work colleague studying and from this conversation “My Dream” started to become a possibility, then a huge step to university and then a Bachelors Degree as a Registered Nurse.

I may have started late in life but during my study years and now nursing I will always be thankful for my former life and career as I brought to my nursing career a wealth of life skill and knowledge that cannot be taught in a classroom.

I worked for a time in a hospital before moving on to work in an aged care facility for many years .

When I was given the opportunity to work for iCare I was super excited as community nursing has always been a passion of mine. I am not only able to nurse but get to know the clients and their families. I love, when time permits, to sit and have a chat and a cup of tea with all our clients.

When I am not at work I love spending time with my children and grandchildren. I love everything crafty and pass that on to clients if it can help their life skills and ways to fill some time.

Tabitha Viney

I bring a varied and broad range of experience and skills. I started my working life in customer service and quickly moved to a corporate banking role.

After working in the banking industry for some time I felt unfulfilled and realized my true calling was helping people. Shortly after I made the career change to Employment Services where I was finally able to make a difference to those in need.

I spent 10 years in the Employment Services industry and gained qualifications in Employment Services and Career Development.

When the opportunity arose for me to become part of the iCare team I knew it was the perfect chance for me to continue helping people whilst learning a new and diverse industry.

As a mother of 2 girls, both who have their own struggles within this sector, it is rewarding to know on a professional level I can give back to an industry that is helping my family through so much.

iCare is kicking goals and I am beyond proud to be a part of such a fresh, exciting company. Watch this space!

Steph Mackay

My name is Steph, I am originally from Edinburgh, Scotland. Living my dream of being in sunshine in Australia. I am a bubbly person who is outgoing and a real chatterbox who likes to keep active

I am currently studying Social Work at University as well as working within iCare. iCare thrives to ensure all clients are well looked after and all their goals are being supported, working within iCare, I feel like I am working with family and coming to work doesn’t feel like work.

I love interacting with all our wonderful clients and it really puts a smile on my face knowing and seeing that iCare can make a huge difference to people’s lives. I do a lot of work within our SIL homes with clients who need 24/7 care and I enjoy spending 1:1 time with each of them in their homes.

After many years in Customer Service and working in many different industries.  I have decided to follow my passion to work in a career that makes a positive difference to our world. I am also a parent to child with special needs which has really driven me to want to be part of support services. I am so glad to be involved with a company like iCare that takes a vested interest in all of our clients and push for the best outcomes for each of them as individuals.

Tegan Claydon

Working in the youth and disability sector was always something I wanted to be apart of. I myself had struggles of my own and I wanted to make sure that I could make a difference for who ever I could. This job gives me that chance. 

Before following the path of caring for people I went on to gain some life experience and follow another passion of mine, which was cooking. I started an apprenticeship which lead me to become a qualified chef, I worked in variety of kitchens, getting the chance to cook for a few celebrities along the way, which was pretty cool ! After 7 years in the chef industry the opportunity come along in 2021 to work as a support worker within iCare , I jumped at the opportunity as j felt like it was time and I had enough experience behind me. Now I am apart of the operations team at head office as a CRO and I have never been more passionate and grounded. 

Knowing that I have been able to not only make a difference to our participants life but also to the family’s, is one of the biggest rewards I feel you could ever have. 

Outside of work you’ll most likely find me hanging out with my doggos and cat or my nieces and nephews. They are truly my happiest place to be. 

Nikki Kane

I am a proud mum to my 7-year-old Son and a Proud dog-mum to Kevin (our little Dachshund) We are currently going through the journey of renovating our first home, if we aren’t doing renovations on our weekends, you will find us at the dog parks and out exploring new places.

I came to iCare with 12 years’ experience from the early years sector, deciding I needed a change. I started here at iCare as the receptionist, and I have recently been given the opportunity to be the Recruitment Officer. I cannot wait to see where this new position takes me.
